J&T German African Cooperation gGmbH
MHAC empowers vulnerable and internally displaced girls in Bamenda, Northwest Region of Cameroon, with the knowledge, dignity, and life skills to manage menstruation safely and confidently.
The Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Campaign (MHAC) is a flagship initiative of J&T German African Cooperation gGmbH (JTGAC), implemented in partnership with Higher Glory Society (HIGLOS). The program empowers vulnerable and internally displaced girls in Bamenda, Northwest Region of Cameroon, with knowledge, dignity, and life skills that enable them to manage menstruation safely and confidently.
For many girls affected by poverty and displacement, menstruation is surrounded by silence, stigma, and limited access to hygiene products and accurate information. These challenges often lead to shame, school absenteeism, health risks, and increased vulnerability to gender-based violence and exploitation. Menstrual health is increasingly recognized as a public health, human rights, and gender equality issue.
